Please don’t expect a huge amount of information on Reed Diffuser Reeds as there isn’t too much to say!
Reed Diffuser Reeds are the key element to getting the fragrance out of the reed diffuser bottle and into the atmosphere. The reeds draw up the fragrance oil from the diffuser bottle below naturally by capillary action and as the reed is then exposed to the air the fragrance is released providing you with continually aroma.
We currently have two types of reeds available natural and black. There is no difference between the absorption properties of each just purely the colour. Dependant on your bottle you may decide one colour is better than the other, it’s up to you!
It should be noted that the manufacturer’s guidance indicates that the black reeds could discolour the oil slightly; I have so far used black reeds in Mulberry fragrance oil and Lavender Fragrance oil, and have experienced no discolouration on either fragrance. However in writing this I have noticed that both of these fragrances are quite deep in colour! If I can get any information from anyone who
has used black reeds in some of the lighter colours I will of course update you all, alternatively if you have used black reeds in light oil let me know your experiences.
