Probably the most popular way to use simmering granules is to burn them on the top of an oil burner. This consist of placing approximately two teaspoons of simmering granules and tea light beneath, similarly to if you were burning oils in your burner. However one of the main differences is that simmering granules are burnt dry without the need for liquids of any description. By using the simmering granules in this way you minimise the risk of your burner burning dry or oil spitting and burning you or damaging items surrounding it, so in that respect you could say simmering granules are safer than oils. Another plus point, as the granules are burnt dry, your burner is left very clean, as when the granules are used they just tip very easily into a waste bin.
Other uses include putting in potpourri, planters of on candle plates to make an alternative to decorative pebbles. They can be used as an ashtray refresh and can have cigarettes extinguished into them the heat then from the cigarette will give a burst of fragrance from the simmering granules.
Other uses include, as a vacuum cleaner refresh, one of our customers advised she had spilt some, and had hooverd them with vacuum cleaner to clear up, her hoover ended up smelling so nice she adds a few in now every time she empties it!
The granules can be used underneath draw linings to fragrance and can also be used in small bags to fragrance cupboards, cloak cupboards, wardrobes, the options are endless.
Another one of our customers puts her simmering granules into small bags and then hangs them behind her radiators then as it comes on it warms the granules and releases the fragrance!
If you have a new and novel way to use your granules let us know we would love to hear from you!
